Memorial Day, 2023 - What can we do this holiday weekend?
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND 2023 is May 26 - 29th. We as Americans celebrate this weekend to remember our Veteran hero's who served in the armed forces, many of them gave thier lives to protect your freedom. This year will be different. But there are many things you can do in our beautiful Ozarks to get out of the house and still celebrate Memorial Day 2020. We have compiled a list of places and things you may want to consider doing besides having a back yard BBQ.

BULL SHOALS VFW POST MEMORIAL DAY SERVICES. Monday May 29TH Held at Newton Flats Cemetary driving Instructions from east, cross the Bull Shoals Dam stay straight on Hwy 178 aka Central Blvd. stay straight to right on Lakeshore Road. Enter the Woodstone Subdivision entrance follow to left on Lakeview Drive watch for cemetary on right. This will be held rain or shine. This has not been confirmed as yet
GASTONS WHITE RIVER RESORT RESTAURANT AND RIVER BOAT RENTALS! 1777 River Rd Lakeview, Arkansas 72642. Restaurant is open for reservations only. GASTONS VISITOR CENTER 153 DAM OVERLOOKING BULL SHOALS, AR 72619 - Marion County (870) 445-3629. Yes they are open! Enjoy the visitor center and find out the history of the Ozark region. You will enjoy the many displays and the views of the Bull Shoals Dam, White River and Bull Shoals Lake. Open 8am to 5pm. There many things to do...both physical like tree top, climbing wall and more. For non-physical activity check out the Zip Lining thru the forest.
OZARK FOLK CENTER AND STATE PARK 1032 Park Avenue Mountain View, Arkansas 72560 870-269-3851. The Ozark Folk Center State Park Craft Village will reopen. They are excited to welcome back many guests and help ease the transition of reopening under the state guidelines. The Skillet Restaurant will reopen May of 2023, with limited capacity. THERE ARE MANY THINGS TO DO HERE. TRAILS, CAVES, PICNIC AREAS - Please call before you go. We are trying to get information about Blanchard Caverns but not able to at this time.

HISTORY WALK The Mountain Home Cemetery, located at 1160 South Main Street, behind the Guy Berry School, is open. BE RESPECTFUL THIS IS A PLACE OF REST FOR GENERATIONS. Veteran soldiers from the Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korea, Viet Nam and Desert Storm. If you have no veterans in your family buried in this very old cemetary, feel free to walk thru and read the names and dates it is enlightening and a way to learn about Mountain Home's History.
