Meeting Place: Trout Dock

Join a park interpreter for a guided John boat tour down the White River. We will take four lucky folks on a journey to learn a little 

about the history of the river and try to scope out some of our native wildlife. River conditions may limit availability. 

Sign up in advance at the trout dock. Seats are limited!

Birding Hike Bull Shoals-White River State Park

Arkansas is home to many birds and a flyway for migratory birds. Learn birding basics and look for some of our feathered friends. 

Meet a park interpreter to learn more about this relaxing hobby and maybe even get the chance to become a birder yourself.

Fly Fishing 101 Bull Shoals-White River State Park

Meeting Place: Trout Dock

Join a park volunteer for an introduction to the art of fly fishing. You will learn the basics on how to get started in fly fishing. 

We will discuss the different rod, lines and flies used on the White River.

Lake Cruise Bull Shoals-White River State Park

Admission: $15 adults, $7.50 children ages 6-12, under 6 free

Night Sounds Bull Shoals-White River State Park

Is it a frog or a cricket? What are the sounds of the spring? Are they different from the sounds that we hear in the fall? 

Join a park interpreter for this wonderfully illustrated program on the sounds that you hear at night.

Eagle Excursion Bull Shoals-White River State Park
(Bull Shoals, AR)

Meeting Place: Trout Dock

Join a park interpreter for a guided John boat tour down the White River in search of the American Bald Eagle. 

Our destination will be two eagle nests on the White River. Bring your camera as we tour the river for this majestic 

symbol of our country. River conditions may limit availability. Sign up in advance at the trout dock. Seats are limited!

Trout Fishing Basics Bull Shoals-White River State Park

Meeting Place: Trout Dock

Join a park interpreter for this wonderful demonstration of how to fish the White River. Fishing for the elusive 

trout in the cold, clear White River is a different adventure than fishing for warm water fish. Join us to learn about 

the different species of trout and the multitude of bait used to catch them. We will also explore the basics of fishing gear.


July 15, 2017 @ 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Kayaking Workshop Bull Shoals-White River State Park

(Bull Shoals, AR)

Admission: $35

Meeting Place: James A. Gaston Visitor Center

Learn the basics of kayaking; safety, gear, the different kayaking strokes, and how to make a wet exit (optional) and rescue. 

There will be two hours on dry land and three hours on the water. We will meet at the James A. Gaston Visitor Center, but the 

on-water session will be at Brown's Beach on Bull Shoals Lake. Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet, preferably water shoes. 

Bring water bottle/drink and sack lunch for the session. Dress for the weather. All gear is provided. 

Children under 13 must be in a tandem boat with an adult.

Adventure Nature Camp Bull Shoals-White River State Park

This three-day, one-night camp is designed to introduce kids ages 10-12 to the wonders of our natural world. 

All gear, materials, and some meals are included in the fee. Spaces fill up quickly, so register early.

insights into the life of the black bear.
