HISTORY OF THE EVENT IN MOUNTAIN HOME

The idea for the Art Odyssey was born October 9, 2010 during the dedication of the Donald W. Reynolds Library in Mountain Home Arkansas.

The artists whose works were purchased to be a permanent part of the library were on hand to meet visitors and answer questions about their art.

Some local supporters of the arts stopped to watch a video made by local mosaic artists R. Scott and Neilla Flanagin, which explained and showed

how the mosaic river JOURNEY was inspired, created and installed. (Visit our Mountain Home Arkansas Library and view the beautiful floor mosaic

by these artists. A river flows with native animals and flora and fauna featured along the way.) They asked why our area could not have a tour of the

local artists which is a question that has been echoing for years. That question led to a meeting by artists, the Chamber and members of the community.

The idea was immediately met by artists and patrons alike with enthusiasm. A committee was formed, a name chosen and trademarked and

THE ART ODYSSEY with its mission to encourage public awareness of art and promote artistic expression in the Arkansas Ozarks was formed.

Come and enjoy speaking with and seeing some of the most talented local artists in our Arkansas Ozark Region. Driving Instructions are on the link

above and there is such diversity in the art.
